Yet another search blog

by Pete Bell

Search is no longer just a search box. It’s all the ways people go about discovering information. Now search is analytics and graphs and tools that used to be just part of business intelligence. It is maps and visualizations and navigation.

And it’s not just an application feature. There’s a whole world behind the scenes. Search is a new kind of data model, index structure, systems architecture, information architecture, user experience, and business process.

Each of us blogging on Search Facets cares deeply about a different slice of search at Endeca. As a technology challenge, it’s the most interesting way we know to spend our days. We don’t all speak the same language. But when you force us to slow down and explain ourselves, this is where we meet.

Welcome to Search Facets!

Congrats! As an avid blogger and an Endeca alum, I’m delighted to see Endeca launching a blog–and especially on that will advance the case for HCIR.
